In 2012 there were lots of problems, troubles and to be completely honest, it sucked.

Google panda and penguin ravaged the search engines and changed everything for millions of bloggers and affiliate marketers.

At the same time all internet marketers are getting conflicting messages. This was the biggest year for information overload.

Do you try Facebook for the first time, how about mobile advertising, or even Pintrest!

With all the confusion many beginners got bogged down, tried and failed, and probably quit in the first few attempted months.

Well I’m here to tell you to NEVER quit.

Figure out a game plan for 2013, and focus on what works.

I’ll give you the simple formula for making money online, and it really doesn’t get any simpler than this.

Traffic => Offer

You just need some form of traffic, and some sort of offer. It can be an affiliate offer, or your own product or squeeze page.

I highly recommend building a list with the traffic so you can keep tapping into that resource over and over again.

The bottom line is, you must think about the basics when figuring out your plan, otherwise you will surely get overloaded with ideas, methods, strategies and tactics that are just too confusing to take action on.

Figure out one source of traffic. Either free or paid. Then find an offer, either yours or affiliates. And start sending traffic to the offer.

If you have that mantra of “Traffic => offer” you will be making money online in no time.

In 2013 there will be even more information overload, there will be many new methods and techniques, and there will be product launches every single day.

You  must escape from being a consumer that doesn’t take action, and in 2013 turn into a consumer who takes action and sends some traffic to a damn offer.

If you take action by sending traffic to an offer you will eventually realise how it all fits in.

Pintrest, Facebook, webinars, and every type of method, technique or product, all fit into this simple formula “traffic => money”

Either you are learning about a new traffic source, or a new type of offer that makes more money, or conversion tactics that increase conversions. But if you stay focused on one traffic source and one type of offer, then you will grow your business exponentially until nothing confuses you any more.

Keep it simple in 2013, and don’t get lost in the information overlaid that will be coming.

Stay strong and NEVER quit.

Thanks for the post Josh!

This is awesomely simple advice that anyone trying to “figure” the marketing puzzle out should take head of and get serious about immediately.

Sometimes it’s easy to get bogged down in all the bull shit (excuse my language) the IM community pushes at new, inexperienced or unsuccessful marketers. We know they are doing this because “they” need something to market for themselves to make money! It’s just usually more “stuff” we don’t need, but if they are good at marketing, will convince us we really need it to be successful.

This is like being stuck in a hamster wheel from Hell!

I received an email from Frank Kern awhile back and it basically said…”I could write a great email and sell you a course for say $497 but instead I’m going to tell you to take that $497 and go out and buy an ad …any ad and send some traffic to it and see what happens.

At least then you will be doing marketing instead of just learning about how to do marketing. Then if you make a profit great, scale it up from there. If not you will have learned as much by going through the process as you would’ve had you bought another course from me.”

Wow, what a great idea! That made an impact on my thought pattern and changed the way I do things! I thought this fit perfectly with your post…I hope your readers will benefit from it as much as I did.

As always…love to read your stuff and appreciate you keeping it real…Period!
